The history of the Swakopmund Lions Club
Lions serve. It’s that simple, and it has been since 1917. Our clubs are places where individuals join together to give their valuable time and effort to improving their communities, and the world.
In Swakopmund the Lions Club (410W) has supported and helped many different areas of need, such as the Cancer Association and the feeding of needy pupils. The varying interests of the various club members bring different appeals and concerns to the committee which decides on whether or not help can be given. To enable this support the club members have various fund-raising initiatives such as raffles and bar service at carnival which raises the money needed for their work. In Swakopmund, the invaluable resource of the Retirement Village takes a great deal of motivation and commitment from all the Lions Club Members, and they are renowned for their service to the Swakopmund elderly.
"To create and foster a spirit of understanding amongst the people of the world"
